Memory and Cognition Care Program
Support for patients with memory problems and their caretakers, including cognitive assessments, IQ testing, medication management, memory screenings, and the eVox diagnostic system.
The Memory and Cognition Care Program at Garden State Medical Group provides support for patients experiencing memory problems, cognitive decline, and related neurological concerns. We also serve as a resource for caretakers and family members who are navigating the challenges of caring for a loved one with cognitive impairment.
Our program includes comprehensive cognitive assessments to evaluate memory, attention, language, executive function, and other aspects of brain health. We use standardized testing instruments along with the eVox diagnostic system, an advanced tool that measures brain electrical activity and neurocognitive function to help identify issues that may not be apparent through traditional assessment alone.
Early detection of cognitive decline is critical. Many treatable conditions — including vitamin deficiencies, thyroid disorders, depression, medication side effects, and sleep disorders — can mimic or contribute to memory problems. A thorough evaluation allows your provider to identify and address reversible causes before considering a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer disease.
For patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, dementia, or Alzheimer disease, we provide ongoing management that includes medication therapy, lifestyle modification counseling, safety planning, and coordination with neurologists and other specialists. We also connect patients and families with community resources, support groups, and caregiver education.
If you or a loved one is concerned about memory loss, confusion, difficulty with daily tasks, or changes in mood and behavior, do not wait to seek evaluation. Early intervention provides the best opportunity for effective management. Contact Garden State Medical Group at (201) 453-2800 to schedule a cognitive assessment.
